Peruvian criminal, court and police records for foreign nationals

If you lived in Peru and no longer have a valid foreigner ID card, we obtain your criminal, court or police records in Lima with a single consular power of attorney and send them to you apostilled.

  • One power of attorney for all three certificates

Why is the process different for foreign nationals?

A Peruvian, or a foreigner with a valid foreigner ID card, can request the criminal record with that ID, as explained on the criminal record page. If you no longer live in Peru and only have a passport, the institutions need someone to represent you in Lima with a consular power of attorney, plus some extra details to find your record.

The advantage: with one power of attorney you can authorize us to request all three certificates, or only the one you need.

Requirements by certificate

Check which certificates you need and gather what each one requires. If you need several, everything goes in the same power of attorney and the same envelope.

How it works, step by step

  1. Message us on WhatsApp

Tell us which certificates you need and for which country. We tell you who the power of attorney is for and what it must say.

  2. Sign the power of attorney at the Peruvian consulate

At the consulate in your city you sign one power of attorney for the certificates you need. If it includes police records, you also legalize your fingerprints and the consulate binds the pages with a seal.

  3. Mail us the power of attorney and photo

Send the power of attorney and a passport-size photo to our office in Lima, and send us your parents' names and, for court records, your entry and exit dates.

  4. We legalize it and request the certificates

We legalize the power of attorney at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and request each certificate: Judiciary, INPE or National Police.

  5. We apostille and send them

About 5 business days after receiving the power of attorney, we send you the apostilled PDFs. The originals ship by DHL or FedEx with tracking.

Frequently asked questions

1. Can I get my Peruvian records if I am a foreigner and no longer live in Peru?

Yes, if you lived in Peru. You sign a consular power of attorney in favor of our staff at a Peruvian consulate, send it to us by mail, and we request the certificates in Lima.

2. Can I request all three certificates with one power of attorney?

Yes. One consular power of attorney can authorize us to request your criminal, court and police records, or only the one you need. If it includes police records, it must include your fingerprints and the binding seal.

3. Why do you need my parents' names?

The Judiciary and INPE use them to identify your record when you only have a passport. Write them in full, as they appear on your documents.

4. Why do you need my dates of entry and exit from Peru?

INPE requires them for the court records certificate. Give the approximate dates when you arrived in and left Peru.

5. Do I need fingerprints?

Only for the police records certificate. For criminal and court records, the power of attorney, the photo and the requested details are enough.

6. What if I still have a valid foreigner ID card?

Then the criminal record is requested as for a Peruvian citizen and no power of attorney is needed. See the criminal record page.

7. How much does it cost?

Each certificate costs S/ 350 all-inclusive: legalization of the power of attorney, obtaining the certificate, physical apostille and PDF delivery. The price is per certificate. Shipping the original is quoted separately.
